SocMobilitat. The technology that moves us

The company SocMobilitat has been commissioned by the Barcelona Metropolitan Transport Authority (ATM) to develop and implement contactless payment technology in the integrated fare system of the public transport network, and to implement other mobility services in the future. With this technology, T-mobilitat will become a reality.

T-mobilitat

T-mobilitat is the new management model for the fare-integrated public transport system that includes a project for the digital ticketing system using contactless technology, and offers users improvements in terms of use, service and information on public transport.

T-mobilitat is more than just a contactless validation system. It is a user-centred ecosystem that will enable us to move towards a Catalan system based on the concept of mobility as a service, where the use of public transport is encouraged and incentivized, along with other mobility services that reduce transport by private vehicle.

T-mobilitat will improve people’s mobility in Catalonia.

The Catalan Ministry of Territory and Sustainability is leading the project, which is supported by the ATM, the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB) and public operators TMB and FGC.

About us

The four partners that make up SocMobilitat are leaders in innovation and the application of cutting-edge technologies in the sectors in which they work.

The capabilities they bring to the T-mobilitat project include state-of-the-art technology for transport, as well as experience with public transport operations and mass deployment and maintenance of all installed equipment, not to mention a sound financial situation.

The T-mobilitat project is structured through a collaboration agreement between the public and private sectors, and will consolidate Barcelona as a model smart city and extend its advantages throughout Catalonia.

Since 2017 the public operators Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona, Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat de Catalunya y Sermetra S.L. owned six percent of SocMobilitat’s share capital, in a proportion of two percent each one.

Since November 2022, Transorts Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) assumes 30% of the shares. Now Indra, CaixaBank, Moventia and Fujitsu own 16.7% each one. Ferrocarrils de la Generalitat and Sermetra own 1.4% each one.
